The Suya Gold Jollof Rice Spice Blend From West Africa

This piquant rice spice is very popular in West Africa thanks to its pleasantly rich taste, making it a must-have at parties and family gatherings. This dish is standardly a combination of rice, tomatoes, and spices.

Comes conveniently packed in a 120g reusable and recyclable glass jar retaining freshness and intense flavour.

Serve as a side dish with any of my recipes for an authentic Ghanaian dining experience. 

Contains: Tomato powder (tomato = 99% and silicon dioxide = 1%), onion powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, nutmeg, coriander seeds, thyme, turmeric, peppercorns, oregano, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, grains of Selim, and bay leaf.

Method 
250g Basmati Rice
30 grams SUYA GOLD JOLLOF RICE SPICE BLEND 
2 cups chicken or vegetable stock
3 tablespoons olive oil
Pinch salt.
 
Ricecooker 
Combine all ingredients and set to cook, you may notice some darkened rice at the bottom, these are known as "unders" in Ghana and are often fought over around the dinner table, crunchy and delicious so don't discard the "unders"!
 
Stove Top
Warm the olive oil, add the JOLOFF RICE SPICE BLEND, add salt, add the rice and warm through, add the stock 1/3 of a cup at a time, cook over low heat with foil and lid on for about 40 mins. Scrape off the 'unders" and enjoy.
