Mother’s Day is about celebrating the women who hold everything together—often quietly, often without fanfare, and sometimes, without a gift to unwrap. This Mother’s Day on the Central Coast, we want to shine a light on the mums who give their all, even when there’s not much left in the tank. And especially the single mums, raising little ones solo with so much love and courage it takes our breath away.

We know that for many single-parent families on the Central Coast, Mother’s Day looks different. The kids are too young to organise anything, the budget’s stretched, and often, Mum wakes up to a normal day—no breakfast in bed, no flowers, no time out.

So, this year at Burnt Honey, we’re doing something a little different.

We’re asking: who’s buying her Mother’s Day gift?

And we want you to help us answer that.

Nominate a Deserving Mum This Mother’s Day on the Central Coast

Between now and May 7, we’re inviting our community to nominate a single mum on the Central Coast—someone with young children who won’t otherwise receive a gift this year. Tell us her name, a little about her story, and why you think she deserves something special.

We’ll choose a number of these incredible women and gift them one of our Strawberries & Cream Maritozzi —on the house. It’s our way of saying thank you, we see you, and you’re doing an amazing job.

It’s a small gesture, sure. But we believe in small, sweet gestures around here. It’s kind of our thing.

Whether you’re a friend, neighbour, teacher, or relative—if you know a single mum who’s always putting others first, we’d love to hear from you. Maybe she’s the mum who volunteers at school even when she’s exhausted. Maybe she works nights and still shows up with a smile. Maybe she’s your sister. Maybe she’s you.

This Mother’s Day on the Central Coast , let’s come together to celebrate not just our own mums, but those whose love might otherwise go unnoticed.

Submissions close 5pm, Wednesday 7 May. We’ll be baking maritozzi across Mother’s Day weekend.
